This greyish flour with a strong nutty aroma and a very slightly bittersweet after taste, is made of millet, commonly known as bajra in North India and ragi in the south, is mixed with atta for breads. It is also mixed with rice flour to make Puttu (South Indian style steamed rice cake).

Bajra is rich in essential compounds like protein, fibre, phosphorous, magnesium and iron. Due to its rich composition of minerals and proteins, Pearl Millet has many health benefits.
